5 Fall Wedding Ideas That Leave Everlasting Impressions

As the summer comes to an end, fall slowly approaches. If the colder weather and the falling leaves are your aesthetic, you’ll probably want to plan a wedding in the fall.

Chances are you’re feeling the nerves and jitters that come along for the ride (and no, it’s not the chilly weather!). If you’re interested in planning a fall wedding, here are some creative ideas that’ll leave an everlasting impression on your wedding guests.

Autumn-Themed Altar

fall wedding ideas

If you’re in need of some fall wedding ideas, look no further than an autumn-themed altar! It’s the perfect accent to a fall wedding and will surely leave your guests feeling seasonally festive.

The altar is an important part of any wedding. It’s the first thing you see as you walk down the aisle and the first thing guests see as they enter your reception space. With this in mind, you can take that altar to the next level with some extraordinary decorations. Consider the following:

  • Fall decorations: Autumn leaves, pumpkins and other fall flowers can be used to decorate the altar area with beautiful colors and textures. Consider adding a few candles for extra flair if you want to create a more intimate or romantic vibe at your nuptials!

  • Fall colors: The use of bright reds, oranges and yellows (as well as deep greens) will help set the tone for an autumn wedding day full of love—and perhaps a little bit of spice! Just make sure not too much heat comes off those candles because otherwise it could get pretty uncomfortable inside these tight spaces where everyone has congregated together under one roof…especially when things start heating up between them later on down inside those same spaces at night!”

Scenic Ceremony Space

Fall wedding ideas don’t always have to be so seasonally-oriented. Why not combine the prospect of a beautiful wedding with a scenic vacation as well?

Consider moving away from the popularly urbanized locations like New York City for a weekend in the mountains. Being amongst nature, you may be surprised by how much greenery feels like home once those doors open up onto a serene outdoor setting complete with trees swaying in the breeze below blue skies — making those beautiful cloudy days feel quite celestial!

Halloween Aesthetic

Of course, it wouldn’t be October without a Halloween aesthetic! This is one of those fall wedding ideas where the time has to line up correctly. If you choose to go for the Halloween aesthetic, you have to strike while the iron is hot (aka before October 31!).

Consider breaking out the pumpkins, the bats, and the ghouls for an awesome Halloween surprise! You can go all out with a Haunted House theme or even a graveyard theme! The possibilities are endless. But you don’t have to overdo it — even some spooky stylistic accents will suffice!

Fall Wedding Ideas Include Cocktail Lounges!

Incorporating a cocktail lounge is one of those perfect fall wedding ideas for adults! Drinks are almost a given to celebrate weddings, so why not dedicate a spot for it?

Cocktail lounges are all about the drinks, so make sure to have plenty of options for guests to choose from. You’ll want an assortment of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as snacks to pair with them. Consider having a bartender on hand to mix up some signature cocktails in addition to selling bottles of wine or beer at the bar itself.

You’ll also want seating areas that are comfortable and convenient for guests who want nothing more than to kick back, relax and enjoy themselves without worrying about getting up for another refill every five minutes (or being able to easily walk away from their table).

A Rustic Theme

Fall wedding ideas don’t stop there! Another fancy option is going for a rustic theme. Going off the scenic ceremony space, a rustic theme plays off the great outdoors and nature.

A rustic theme is a natural choice for fall weddings. The colors of fall are perfect for this theme, and you can use them to decorate the ceremony, reception and even your bridal party’s attire. Consider stylistic accents like natural wood, organic materials, and earthy tones. You can even decorate tables with natural red and orange leaves to round out the scene!

BLOGS 5 Wedding Favors to Wow Your Guests

5 Wedding Favors to Wow Your Guests

Though not necessary, wedding favors are always a great addition to any wedding celebration. They’re a sweet gesture that shows gratitude and appreciation for your guests — so, if you can, why not reward them?

You don’t need to go above and beyond, either. If your budget allows for it, consider these 5 wedding favors that will wow your guests and leave them talking for years to come.

Chocolate Bars Make Wonderful Wedding Favors!

If you’re looking for unique wedding favors, try chocolate bars! They’re easy to order online and come in a variety of different styles and flavors. On top of that, they’re universally loved, and you can choose from an array of different styles and flavors to match your theme.

Another great idea to round out your chocolate bar endeavors is to personalize them! There are plenty of vendors online that can make your confectionery vision come true. Consider adding your wedding date over a sophisticated background to make for a memorable visual. Moreover, you have the choice of either dark chocolate or milk chocolate. Either way, everybody wins!

Bottle Openers

A guitar-shaped bottle opener!

Bottle openers are another great choice for wedding favors. They can be used for opening wine bottles, liquor bottles, and pretty much any bottled beverage without a cap. There are many different styles of bottle openers available including ones that look like keys, guitars, and even the Millennium Falcon from “Star Wars!”

With bottle openers, you have an infinite number of possibilities when it comes to customization, as they come in different shapes, sizes, materials and colors and can be used again and again. Give your guest bottle openers as wedding favors and they’ll be thinking of you every time they go to crack open a bottle — creating lasting memories to come!

Personalized Wine Label

This one’s for all our wine lovers out there!

Personalized wine labels are a sophisticated way to show your guests that you have put thought into the gift they are taking home. They can also be a perfect option if you’re on a budget and don’t have much money to spend on favors. In fact, if your budget is tight, focus on the quality of the wine label rather than the wine itself.

There are many ways that you can personalize these little treasures, including:

  • Your name(s) and date of wedding
  • Names of the bride and groom
  • A fun quote or wordplay (for example, “Wine is constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy” — Benjamin Franklin)

Leather Luggage Tags

Leather luggage tags

Do you have any travelers amongst your friends and family? Leather luggage tags should be on top of your wedding favors list then! Luggage tags are a fun way to add some whimsy to your guests’ gifts. They come in many styles and can be customized with any font, so you can find one that matches the rest of your decor/crowd aesthetic.

Colored Pencils

Colored pencils are simple yet effective wedding favors to give your guests of all ages. They’re small and portable, making them easy to pack around. You can give them away as a gift or use them as party favors by putting them in decorative boxes with ribbons around the lids or spines of the containers, which makes for an even more elegant presentation.

If you want to get really fancy (and if your budget permits), you can even personalize your colored pencils further by printing out names on stickers and attaching them to each individual pencil (this would work best if you have kids at your wedding). This way when people take their gifts home from your reception they’ll know exactly who gave it to them!

Colored pencils are also useful for creating art projects such as pictures or drawings using different shades of color, so there’s no shortage of ways these fun little items can be used around the house!

BLOGS Pros and Cons to Hiring a Full-Service Wedding Event Company

Pros and Cons to Hiring a Full-Service Wedding Event Company

If you’re planning a large and extravagant wedding, chances are you’re probably looking into hiring a DJ, Photographer, and other vendors. Of course, you’ll want to provide your guests with an unforgettable experience — and what better way to do so with a full-service wedding event company?

Though you may get services such as a DJ, a photo booth, and photography, you should still be wary of your choices. Here are the pros and cons to hiring a full-service wedding event company rather than multiple individual vendors.

Pro: A Full-Service Wedding Event Company Can Save You Money

full-service wedding event company

Hiring a full-service wedding event company has several advantages — one being that it can save you money. These companies are cost-efficient in the fact that, instead of outsourcing work to each individual vendor (including photographers, DJs, and caterers), a full-service company provides all of these services for one flat price.

If you opt for individual vendors, those prices will quickly rack up by the end of your wedding expenditures. Plus, aside from its cost, managing individual vendors can be quite the headache — especially when there’s so much to worry about for your big day.

Pro: It Can Save You Time

On top of the headache it provides, hiring individual vendors can also be a huge time waster. To break it down, consider the amount of time doing your due diligence will take. From research to contact to trial period to payment, doing so for each vendor could swallow up a huge chunk of planning time. Add that with around 3 to 4 vendors and you’re looking at hours upon hours of wasted time.

With a full-service wedding event company, all of these spectacular wedding services are housed under one umbrella. In turn, you won’t be spending as much time researching, contacting, and offering trial runs to one person each.

Con: You Can Potentially Sacrifice Quality

As is with most services, with the pros come the cons. With a full-service wedding event company, you do run the risk of sacrificing quality when it comes to each service provider. For example, you may love a company’s photographer and the work they do, but their photobooth may be faulty and can potentially spoil part of your wedding.

Consider having a phenomenal DJ as part of the package, but the photographer’s work is not up-to-par. Generally, you get what you pay for, so if you choose to go with a less expensive full-service wedding company, keep in mind that some of the vendors could possibly not meet your standards and expectations.

In hiring individual vendors, you have full autonomy to choose providers that are up to your standards — with the trade-off being your time expended.

Con: A Full-Service Wedding Event Company May Not Be Flexible

When hiring a full-service wedding event company, another con you have to be aware of is lack of flexibility. Consider this situation: your wedding runs longer than usual and you need a DJ to keep playing music and keep the energy up. What happens if the DJ can’t stay late?

No matter how much money you offer, it still may not sway them into sticking around for the rest of the night. And what happens if the photographer has to leave at a certain time? Where will those precious late-night memories of your wedding go?

These are just some of the circumstances to consider when hiring a full-service wedding event company. You never know how your wedding will pan out, so having that flexibility is key for your vendors!

BLOGS Tips for Choosing a Wedding Photographer

Tips for Choosing a Wedding Photographer

Planning for a wedding is no easy task, especially when you have so many moving parts to take account for. Whether it’s remembering to invite everyone you know or coordinating with an event planner, wedding planning can certainly be difficult. Luckily, choosing a wedding photographer doesn’t have to be.

In this blog, we’ll take a look at some of the tips and tricks you can utilize to score the best wedding photographer possible.  Here’s how!

Check Their Portfolio

Before choosing a wedding photographer, the first thing you’ll want to do is check out a prospective hire’s portfolio. Here, you should take into account what exactly you want out of a wedding photographer.

Analyze their photo style. Take a look at elements such as angling, lighting, staging. Other elements to be aware of include form, shape, size, color, line, depth, and texture. Understanding these elements and how they can really make your wedding photos pop and stand out can be really useful.

You’ll also want to ask yourself: what kind of lighting are they using? Do the photos look professionally taken? Are they using high-quality cameras? It’s also good practice to check their background for reviews that highlight a potential hire’s strengths and weaknesses.

Understanding Your Wedding’s Needs

Are you planning on having a huge wedding or a small one? Does it call for an elaborate photo and stage setup, or are you opting for something simple? Being honest with your wedding needs will help you in choosing a wedding photographer. In fact, depending on the size of your wedding, you may even need a full team of photographers.

Also, your guests should be in mind when choosing a wedding photographer. As they may want to see the pictures and receive Thank You’s afterward, ask yourself how you would like your photos delivered. Would you prefer physical or digital copies? Glossy images or matte? Would you like them framed? And since we live in the social media age — what are the best means of delivering these photos to your guests online? Consider turnaround time as well!

It is also important to make sure you and your photographer are on the same page about time. Having your photographer leave hours before the end of the wedding is a situation absolutely no one wants to be in. Make sure you are in constant communication with your photographer to make sure they’ll be able to stay for the majority of the event. Leaving an hour before the end is generally acceptable.

Offer a Trial Run Before Choosing a Wedding Photographer

When choosing a wedding photographer, you’ll want to weigh your options. One way you can go about such is by offering a trial run.

Once you settle on a photographer that may fulfill your needs, use this time to offer a trial run. A good time for a trial run would be your engagement photos — as you can test out a photographer’s (or studio’s) capabilities, see what services they offer, and how their customer service is.

Don’t Focus on Price

Lastly, don’t focus on price when choosing a wedding photographer. It may seem like an obvious choice to actually focus on price, but good quality photography and service is subjective and cannot be labeled.

If you want to shell out money for a huge photo studio, you still run the risk of receiving phoned-in photographs and/or shoddy service. Furthermore, a cheaper photographer may not be up to par when it comes to your standards — be it through their equipment, experience, or even customer service.

Let quality be the deciding factor in your wedding photography endeavors!

BLOGS 4 Tips for Holding an Outdoor Wedding This Summer

4 Tips for Holding an Outdoor Wedding This Summer

As the summer shifts into full gear, many are looking to host an outdoor wedding — and who can blame them?! With beautiful weather, a wonderful atmosphere, and music curated to the audience’s needs, there are many factors to consider when holding an outdoor wedding this summer.

Good Practices for Holding an Outdoor Wedding

So you’re planning an outdoor wedding? Great! It’s a beautiful time to tie the knot, but as is with all wedding planning, you’ll need to stay on top of all the moving parts when planning an outdoor wedding. From maintaining optimal comfort for your guests to monitoring the weather, being prepared for potential pitfalls during your wedding. Furthermore, coordinating with your guests during the summer months — a time where most people go on vacation — is imperative.

Here’s what you need to know when holding an outdoor wedding this summer.

Check the Weather

This is most certainly a no-brainer, but checking the weather ahead of time will allow for key preparation before holding your outdoor wedding. When selecting a date, consider using a reliable weather outlet like weather.com or climate.gov and look at historical data of that day’s weather. Has it been characteristically rainy that day? Does it get sweltering hot? What about the humidity? This will allow you to make well-informed decisions when selecting the day of the wedding.

Beyond the historical data, you’ll obviously want to keep an eye on the upcoming weather as well. Weather.com offers a monthly look at the weather, so you can keep tabs on any potential weather changes as your big day approaches.

It’s also a good idea to avoid the hottest part of the day. As the sun is generally the highest around 3 p.m., consider holding your event in the later part of the afternoon/early evening.

Provide Ample Shade

On top of checking the weather, you’ll also want to provide ample shade for your guests. It’s summer, so it’ll be warm of course! Coordinate with your wedding venue to ensure that there are amply shaded areas on premises for your guests.

Consider the number of children who will be attending, for example. As many will be running around for the most part, leaving them with some shaded areas will give them an opportunity to cool off from under the hot sun. If there aren’t naturally-shaded areas with trees and other sources, you should probably invest in setting up a tent (and perhaps some fans to go along with them) to shield wedding guests from the hot sun.

Encourage Sunblock Use

When holding an outdoor wedding, encourage guests to use sunblock prior to the ceremony.

One of the biggest dangers of prolonged sun exposure is the dreaded sunburn. According to the Mayo Clinic, too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun “increases the risk of other skin damage, such as dark spots, rough spots, and dry or wrinkled skin.” Furthermore, symptoms include “Changes in skin tone, such as pinkness or redness,” “Pain and tenderness,” and in severe cases, “Headache, fever, nausea and fatigue.”

The American Cancer Society (ACS) advises that people should use “broad spectrum” sunscreen that protects not only against Ultraviolet A (UVA), but also Ultraviolet B (UVB) rays. The Skin Cancer Foundation notes that UVA and UVB rays have been, respectively, tied to skin aging and skin burning. Avoid this by choosing the appropriately labeled sunscreen.

You’ll also want to consider the Sun Protection Factor (SPF). While no sunscreen completely protects your skin from all UV rays, choosing a sunscreen that has an SPF of 30 or higher is highly recommended. The ACS says that “SPF 15 sunscreens filter out about 93% of UVB rays, while SPF 30 sunscreens filter out about 97%, SPF 50 sunscreens about 98%, and SPF 100 about 99%.”

Carefully Choose the Wedding Catering

When holding an outdoor wedding, you’ll need to be mindful of the catering. With the sun’s heat, you’ll want to have refreshing foods for your guests. Think fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, and lighter meals. Avoid foods that don’t mix well with the weather, like hot soups and foods that are overly spicy. You’ll probably want to cut back on the steaks and red meat (depending on how thickly cut), too, as it can leave guests feeling sluggish throughout the day.

There’s also nothing wrong with opting for grilled foods. You can opt for more wedding-appropriate foods than the traditional burger and hot dog combo like grilled fish, thin-cut beef tenderloin, and more. You can also get really creative with kebabs!

Holding an Outdoor Wedding with Everlasting Productions

Once you have the venue and catering set for your outdoor wedding, you’ll have to consider the sounds of course! In fact, a good DJ can either make or break your event. Don’t settle for less.

How to plan a wedding: the ultimate checklist for brides-to-be

By Chloe Best

Source: HelloMagazine

So you’ve just got engaged? Congratulations! Now is an incredibly exciting time, and the coronavirus lockdown means you have plenty of time to plan. Here, our wedding timeline will give you advice on everything from setting the date to finding the perfect wedding venue and deciding on a theme – starting 12 months in advance. (We will assume that you will host your nuptials once the coronavirus pandemic has passed and you are able to invite guests, but of course there is always the option to have a virtual ceremony if you’d rather not wait.)

Budget is a huge factor when wedding planning, and should be one of the first things you think about, so you know roughly how much you can allocate to everything from the venue to the dress and the catering.

Bride-and-groom-wedding

Follow our handy wedding planning timeline in the countdown to your big day

Once you’ve found and booked your ceremony and reception venues, you can start booking suppliers, including your DJ or band, photographers, and caterer if there isn’t one at your venue. Writing your guest list and starting to notify invitees about your wedding date should also be high on your agenda, so everybody knows to keep the date free. This will also give your guests something major to look forward to after the isolation period.

After the main things are booked, you can start thinking about wedding outfits for yourselves and the rest of the wedding party. Then enjoy a break from wedding planning by browsing for honeymoon inspiration and decide where you can go to unwind once it’s all over, and once travel restrictions are lifted following the coronavirus pandemic. From hair and makeuptrials to the seating plan and wedding breakfast menu, there will be lots to sort out as your wedding day approaches, but our handy printable checklist will help you to stay organised and prioritise what needs to be done when. Good luck!

12 months to go

  • Announce your engagement!
  • Book the church or civil ceremony venue
  • Book reception venue
  • Book registrar if civil ceremony
  • Start looking around for gown inspirations
  • Think about possible venues and themes

11 months to go

  • Work out your wedding budget
  • Compose your guest list
  • Visit bridal stores to look at and try on gowns
  • Book caterer
  • Book DJ or band
  • Book photographer
  • Book lighting and sound (we recommend Luminaire Events)

BLOGS 10 Essential Tips for Planning a Wedding Like an Event Professional

10 Essential Tips for Planning a Wedding Like an Event Professional

By Holly Barker

Source: Event Manager

A wedding is one of the most important days in any couple’s lives. From engagement photos, to selecting vendors, to making checklists and choosing your wedding party, there are lots of items that need to be planned out in an orderly fashion up until you say those two magical words – “I Do.”

Planning your own wedding can sometimes feel overwhelming and stressful, but if you follow these stress-free tips below, you will find planning your wedding will be smooth sailing, and more enjoyable from an expert event professional mindset.

1) Set a Budget, and Stick To It

Weddings can be very expensive, and just like any other event, you may find yourself wanting to add additional items to your master list closer to the event date, which may not have been in your set budget.

Make a budget and stick to it. If you think you may have “wish list” items that will pop up closer to the time of the wedding, add those items in with your set budget from the very beginning. Aim to never exceed the set amount you have budgeted for from day one.

If you overspend on flowers, then you must cut back from something else on your list. Be flexible with yourself, and prioritize the big spend items and must-have items first on your budget, knowing that those have to be paid for, as opposed to “wish list” items that can get cut at anytime.

2) Create a Timeline

Besides the budget, a timeline is the most important part of planning a wedding as an event professional. Develop a reasonable timeline, fit to your schedule, and map out due dates on a calendar. You will find well-known wedding websites provide checklists with timelines for you, so be sure to follow these when planning out your calendar. Depending on the timing of the wedding, you will want to ensure you have ample time to plan and insert orders that can take more time than others.

3) Find Event Tools Fit For You

Event tools are an event planners best friend! Besides online wedding checklists, look for event apps with budgets, checklists and reminders that are used for weddings, or if you prefer to use your go-to event planning apps, those will work just fine.

Some planners prefer to work in excel, while others prefer the old school method of writing out every expense paid for an event – it’s up to you, but be sure to track all expenses at the end of the day to help make your planning efforts run smoothly!

4) Choose the Important Details

Once you have planned out the budget and timeline of the wedding, it’s time to figure out the most important details of all. The size of the wedding will determine more from a budget perspective, so first, create a guest list and stick to it as close as possible.

Once you have completed the list, move on to selecting a venue, wedding date and theme. The process for selecting the venue is very similar to selecting event venues for other types of events.

You will want to meet with venue owners, get a list of what they provide and do not provide on the day of the wedding, have them send you a formal quote, and find out what dates they have available that work with the timing you are working towards. Couples are constantly getting engaged, so finding the weekend that works best for you is sometimes hard to do, but most importantly, the details and service you receive at the venue are crucial.

Review the contract (and all vendor contracts) before signing with the venue, and be sure to ask if you can stop by when they may be having a party so you can see what the venue will look like decorated and full of guests! As a planner it’s always important to see your event space in action before you make any commitments.

5) Design with Quality

You may have several design resources you use for events on a yearly basis, and if one comes to mind for a wedding, be sure to reach out and ask for their help to design signs, invitations, programs and save the dates!

There’s nothing more special than a custom, creative wedding set with a unique twist showing off the style and character of the happy couple!

6) Vendors are Your Golden Ticket

Be diligent when hiring vendors. Find references for all of your vendors, and create a spreadsheet with contact info, and a back-up contact for all vendors. As a rule of thumb, always remember vendors are just the same as any tradeshow or corporate event vendor, but in this case, they may be a DJ, food and beverage caterer, lighting and décor or photo booth company, flower shop, or wedding dress boutique.

It’s important to set up meetings with all vendors, have follow-up meetings, make sure your contacts feel like an extension of you from the very get-go. Together, you are all creating one master experience for the bride, groom, and wedding guests.

7) It’s all About Customer Service

No matter what event is being planned, event professionals always go out of their way to guarantee amazing service. One thing to keep in mind as you are planning a wedding is to go the extra mile for anyone and everyone involved in the wedding. Use your gift vendors and personalize party favors for all of the gifts, find special gifts for the wedding family you can customize just for them that they will cherish forever, and create welcome bags for the wedding guests to drop off at the preferred wedding hotel of choice.

Inside the welcome bag, be sure to include the schedule of weekend or day events, times to arrive, and where to go, and goodies for your guests. You can customize your goodies to cater to the location of the wedding – for example, if the wedding is taking place at in a city known for a sports team, maybe include something with the team name on it, or a local beer! Your guests will absolutely love the welcome bags, and thoughtful ideas put behind them.

8) Take Time For You

Sometimes even wedding event planners in the role of bride or groom need some R&R on the day of their wedding! One great way to make sure you’re focused on you, is to hire a day-of coordinator who can simply pick up right where you left off in your amazing planning!

As an event professional, they will be blown away by your checklists and vendor sheets, which will come in handy on the day of your wedding. There are lots of smaller wedding event companies who provide day-of planning services for an affordable cost. Their services provided on your special day will ease your mind, and guarantee a stress-free day, where you can ensure your vendors are greeted by another event professional in A+ fashion.

It’s nice to know someone on your playing field will be filling in your event professional shoes for you while you get ready for the day you have been dreaming of your whole life!

9) Anticipate Challenges

No wedding, however well planned by the best event planners, will ever come off perfectly. Expect something to go not as planned, and when it does, if you are the bride or groom, you can either be well-prepared to have your day-of coordinator jump in and tackle the issue, or let it roll off your back! Day-of logistics can and do sometimes get overlooked, so as the wedding event planner be sure to triple check your checklist no matter what.

So many little items tend to appear on the wedding day you may not expect, such as broken zippers on dresses, missing centerpieces, not knowing where a vendor should be located at the venue, etc. Keep your cool at all times, and have a back-up plan to your back-up plan.

Weddings are not for the faint of heart if taking on the role of wedding event planner, so be sure to be quick on your feet when issues arise, and assertively step in to handle juggling balls as they come flying your way ☺

10) Soak It All In

Most couples forget to take a few minutes and look around the room once everything is all planned and in motion. Take a few minutes to relax, and enjoy the accomplishment of planning an emotional and fun-filled memory in your lives.

Remember all events take a huge amount of time, sweat and work to be pulled off, but weddings are events of a different nature. They take months, sometimes years to pull together, and being able to soak all of your hard work in will feel amazing.

In Conclusion

Weddings can be so much fun to plan as an event professional. Having the right tools and tips ahead of time, will help go a long way when taking the dive into the sometimes overwhelming, but very rewarding process of wedding planning. Hopefully these ten tips will come in handy for any event professional, or soon-to-be wedding planner!
